Head of Engineering

A permanent Melbourne engineering leadership role for someone who can build strong teams and dependable AWS-based technology delivery. The role combines engineering leadership, architecture judgement, delivery quality and ownership of the environment in which teams do their best work.

What you will own

• Lead and develop engineering teams responsible for software and cloud platform delivery.
• Set practical engineering standards across architecture, quality, security and operational ownership.
• Guide AWS platform and system design decisions while balancing delivery speed, reliability and cost.
• Partner with product and business leaders to translate priorities into a sustainable engineering roadmap.
• Build a culture of accountability, coaching and continuous improvement across engineering.

What you will bring

• Experience leading software or platform engineering teams in a technology environment.
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture, cloud-native delivery and production operations.
• A track record of improving engineering quality, delivery practices and team capability.
• Ability to operate across technical detail, people leadership and business priorities.
• Melbourne-based or able to work in Melbourne as required.
